Modernizing Conservative Republicans and informing you of the events and elections.

CrimsonPolitics no longer supports neither the Republican Party nor the conservative movement (nor the tea party movement) nor the libertarian movement any longer. We've found that progressives and Democrats are simply more correct on a huge number of issues (social, economical, foreign policy) and we have changed our stances as a collective group. We also apologize if we mislead you about Obama, he has been doing a great job on the economy based on the evidence. (we still do not like Nancy Pelosi though, she is still corrupt; but honestly Newt Gingrich and John Boehner are much worse)

CrimsonPolitics reverses its stance; now supports Obama

Brian Kane 01 January 2012

Republican party of NO

CrimsonPolitics has now reversed its stance. I'm the owner of the blog and neither me nor my teammates feel that the Republicans are doing a good job.

The Republicans have gone off the deep end and can only be described as insane loons who will do anything for wall street money and will say anything to make Obama look bad. I had previously thought that they just disagreed with his policies, but after lengthy discussions with other conservative bloggers, it is clear that they are just racist and sometimes will lie and say anything for people to hate the word "democrat".

I had assumed that Republicans were just misunderstood or simply had some issues where they differed. No, I now realize, that libertarians and conservatives are 2 faces of the same coin, they are a cult. A cult that will believe anything without evidence. They will bash people based on party lines rather than logic or argumentation.

As I administered many Republican groups on facebook as well, I had the chance to meet smart conservatives, who were deluded by religion, their parents, or libertarian propaganda by places like the CATO institute (myself included).

I now realize, that the Republicans... ALMOST ALL OF THEM, are all bought by Wall Street and are lying through their teeth to the American people to convince people regarding trickle down economics.

Reagonomics/Republican-economics = tricke-down economics

I too fell for this trick for a little bit as I was doing my research. On the surface the idea that the rich getting richer would simply create more jobs sounds all nice and dandy--but in reality, as I met more rich people and rich conservatives in my life--I found the opposite to be true.

The rich get richer, and they don't hire new people. They invest in the stock market, sometimes in foreign markets, or they save the money for bankers to use. They don't create jobs. Job creation is based on necessity not, how much money a rich person has in his bank account.

They'd rather spend it on a yacht built in some foreign country rather than invest in some struggling small business.

Not only that but I've come to realize what Adam Smith had said all along:

"It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

He understood what many people fail to realize: money makes money. If you're born without it, you're not going to hard-work your way to riches (but many conservatives/libertarians BELIEVE THIS FALSEHOOD). The value of a dollar is worth more to a poor person than it is to a rich person--ECONOMICAL FACT.

Regarding my stance on Obama

I had misjudged Obama. He doesn't seem like the corporate/wall-street crony capitalist I thought he would be. I was angry that he bailed out many corporations, but a lot of it were loans that were repaid and not doing so would have taken unemployment to the 20%s or higher and devastated the economy. The economy is improving, but job-growth is stagnating but this just goes back to what I said about rich corporations and rich people not hiring still--as you can see, corporations getting richer and making money, but they aren't hiring, because there simply isn't a need. I wouldn't blame that on Obama (but Republicans will).

So far, he hasn't done anything wrong on the foreign policy front, he has considered diplomacy first in many cases. He ended the Iraq war which I agree with (I disagreed with hasty retreats before, not a peaceful conclusion). He seems to be making the correct decisions on Afghanistan. The drone strikes are fine to me, democrats may hate him for it, but to me, assassinating a terrorist via signature of the president where there is evidence of terror-links is the same as a jury sentencing a terrorist in court--except now soldiers don't have to risk their lives in Yemen or Pakistan to do dangerous operations. He has killed Osama Bin Laden (he probably wanted to capture him, hence no drone strike), and risked high-level technology to do this.

Some Democrats seem to think Obama signing the NDAA 2012 is bad, but the reality is that NDAA 2012 doesn't authorize any new powers, and his own statement about it, is amazingly well written. It even explains how the law doesn't change anything. So I don't think Obama is attacking civil liberties or anything.

The Patriot Act was a let down by Obama, that law needs to go. However, he has struggled with congress on trying to stop this law. It's really congress that is forcing Obama into a corner on this issue. A lot of new provisions were adopted making it very difficult to do any illegal wiretapping etc.

Obama repealed DADT. That was terrible what the military was doing to civil liberties of homosexuals. Yes I know I said I wouldn't talk about this subject in the past, but homosexuals are humans and citizens too.

The only complaints I have of Obama is that he hasn't stopped the war on drugs and he hasn't disbanded the TSA. Unfortunate, and liberals will hate him for it (and some libertarians). However, it's very hard to just dismantle parts of the government, it would cost a lot of jobs. So I understand why Obama is in a tough spot. I bet if the economy was booming, he would go ahead and dismantle these things, after all he is a constitutional lawyer.

Regarding my stance on conservatism/libertarianism

Libertarians and conservatives are one in the same. They believe the same bullshit. They feed each other the same lies.

Libertarians are what I would call 'more educated conservatives.' They have improved their social positions (regarding homosexuals etc), and they are not fascistic regarding civil rights. That's about it.

They both believe in trickle-down economics. They both have tendencies to be anti-gay and anti-black. They both have tendencies to support the rich and wallstreet crony capitalism.

They only differ on the wars really. Conservatives are war-mongers due to their irrational religious nationalism. Libertarians are isolationists due to their irrational belief that we should not be involved outside of US borders.

Libertarians are usually minarchists and anarchists who want to shut down the federal government. They have terrible understanding of debt and economy.

Conservatives also say they hate "Big government" but then they expand government in fascistic ways (Homeland/TSA/DEA), and then they refuse to raise taxes because they think its taxes are theft (which they are NOT).

They're both retarded.

All that hype about Ron Paul

Ron Paul? This guy is a crazy old man. He wants to dismantle the whole federal government. He's a minarchist. An idealist, not a pragmatist or a realist.

He's also a loon, a creationist, he's anti-science. Anti-education. anti-federal anything. He is pro-life (which makes no sense why anyone calls him a libertarian). He is non-secular (as in he's a religious nutbag).

Wait--but he's seriously seriously a loon. He goes on the Alex Jones conspiracy theory radio show all the time. Anyone familiar with Alex Jones knows that this guy is dangerously stupid worse than Rush Limbaugh if you can imagine.

Ron Paul is also a racist and a homophobe. The facts about his newsletters, his voting record, all speak for themselves about this.

So forget the hype about him. I just wanted to get that off my chest as some people have told me that he's my best "alternative". Maybe if I was still libertarian like I use to be, but I'm far from that.

Regarding my own positions---did I reverse some? Yes

Yes I reversed some positions of mine. I don't agree with supply-side economics or reagonomics anymore. I have little to no respect for Reagan left (when I use to adore him) after reading his son's book and some of his policies' results on the economy.

I do think waterboarding is torture now under our current understanding of the word. I argued it wasn't before but a bit irrationally, I said that 'then prison is torture too', well it is torture but we "hope" it won't be for everyone in it. It became our most popular article.

Well it is torture. It is painful and causes great irritation. I think that defines torture.

I still think "The Day the Earth Stood Still" sucked.

I now reverse my position on Constitution applying to non-citizens. It applies to everyone within the border of the US.

Regarding my stance on the rest of GOP presidential candidates of 2012

"They're all fucking nuts." Is all I have to say.

Status of CrimsonPolitics.com

It will probably remain inactive until some progressive group wants to buy the domain and run it. I didn't want to delete the blog because there is some good information (some of it may be incorrect or mistaken, or even irrational at times [I admit I can make mistakes], and I might edit some articles, but I'll keep it because otherwise google will have a lot of 404 errors on useful keywords).

Conclusion

Oh and happy new years, I hope this inspires some of you libertarians and conservatives to reconsider ALL your positions, no matter what party you CURRENTLY support.
