Modernizing Conservative Republicans and informing you of the events and elections.
CrimsonPolitics no longer supports neither the Republican Party nor the conservative movement (nor the tea party movement) nor the libertarian movement any longer. We've found that progressives and Democrats are simply more correct on a huge number of issues (social, economical, foreign policy) and we have changed our stances as a collective group. We also apologize if we mislead you about Obama, he has been doing a great job on the economy based on the evidence. (we still do not like Nancy Pelosi though, she is still corrupt; but honestly Newt Gingrich and John Boehner are much worse)
Hamas Announces Ceasefire for Israel to Withdraw
Hamas announced that they would give one week for Israel to withdraw from Gaza as part of the ceasefire agreement. This announcement came some hours after Israel's unilateral ceasefire came into effect. Israeli troops started to pull out of Gaza. There were rockets launched earlier today that hit Israel. Hamas's hostile handling of the ceasefire is very questionable.
Of course, when people protest about the subject, they protest Israel because they have a stronger military, and they always seem to forget to protest the atrocities of Hamas.
Hamas' deputy chief Moussa Abou Marzouk said that the ceasefire applied to all Palestinian resistance forces not just Hamas. He announced: "We... announce a ceasefire of our factions in the Gaza Strip and we stress that our demand is the withdrawal of the enemy forces from the Gaza Strip within a week, along with the opening of all the crossings for the entry of humanitarian aid, food and other necessities for our people in the Gaza Strip."
A Hamas leader in Gaza, Ismail Haniya, announced that Hamas had been victorious against Israel--and so the cycle continues.
BBC also reports that even after Israel declared ceasefire rockets were fired into Israel.
As we hope that the fighting does indeed stop in the near future, we can only be hopeful that Hamas one day lays down its arms and stops firing rockets and giving Israel more reasons.
What we shouldn't forget is, Hamas is a terrorist organization, and they benefit whenever they provoke an attack; they have no gain in peace, only in cease fires in which they prepare better defenses for the next time. Let's hope this time it's different.
