Israel About to End Assault in Gaza

Israeli Gaza Conflict 2009

As with all wars, eventually the fighting is going to stop. Currently, the Israeli government is considering a cease fire. Hamas however, refuses! The Hamas leaders refuse to accept any cease fire. And we now realize the true business of Hamas: Terrorism. Liberals should ask themselves, if they were in Israel's place what would they do.

Liberal's usual answer is they don't know, but that the current solution isn't working. Well that is not how governments work, they can't have a moment without a solution. They will do what they think may solve the current crisis: The rockets flying into Israel. This is to severely weak Hamas and cut off Hamas supply of weaponry.

Hamas leader Khaled Maashal, in the Qatar meeting between numerous Muslim nations including Iran, refused any opportunity to cease fire with Israel. The collateral damage of Israeli weaponry, the growing angry public opinion against Israel, recruitment, protests, and Hamas's main goal of destroying Israel are strengthening.

The usual complaint of course, is why Israel has to have such high civilian casualties? Well, after decades of fighting Israelis, the terrorists in Palestine have learned that having civilians near them in battle helps them avoid getting hit since they know Israel does not like to hit civilians because of world opinion.

Hamas using Civilian Shields
Hamas Human Shields

What can Israeli forces do when terrorists are shooting at them with civilians as human shields?

Although Israel tries to not harm civilian casualties, we must continue to criticize Israel to be more careful in not harming civilians because it also harms their cause. The problem is, there is no other solution, no alternative. We have to give credit to Israel when it avoids civilian casualties or when it uses more humane approaches.

We also need to stop giving Hamas the benefit of the doubt, and recognize that they are a terrorist organization bent on destruction of Israel. We cannot excuse their actions and blame Israel, we must blame Hamas for starting this war.

Some people are shocked to find out that Hamas officially broke the ceasefire saying that they had no intention to continue this expired cease fire. This is what prompted the rocket launches, and this is what prompted the response from Israel.

Israel is in a very lose-lose situation, but the attack is necessary to at least delay or possibly completely stop the Hamas rocket attacks for a long time.

The only way this Israeli-Hamas blood feud can end is if the Palestinian people develop a new ideology that demands peace and wants to rid Palestine of terrorism.

Nice pictures, I hadn't seen them before. No wonder civilian casualties are high sometimes.

Yes I apologize it took a while to get pictures on.

Let us pray for the safety of Palestinian civilians who held hostages by Hamas and the safety of Israeli soldiers. May this campaign end swiftly and may Hamas be annihilated. May moderate Muslims emerge victorious in the struggle for Gaza!
