Modernizing Conservative Republicans and informing you of the events and elections.
CrimsonPolitics no longer supports neither the Republican Party nor the conservative movement (nor the tea party movement) nor the libertarian movement any longer. We've found that progressives and Democrats are simply more correct on a huge number of issues (social, economical, foreign policy) and we have changed our stances as a collective group. We also apologize if we mislead you about Obama, he has been doing a great job on the economy based on the evidence. (we still do not like Nancy Pelosi though, she is still corrupt; but honestly Newt Gingrich and John Boehner are much worse)
Michael Steele Wins RNC Chairmanship
Michael Steele, a Fox News Contributor and Lieutenant Governor of Maryland won the RNC race Friday becoming the Republican National Committee Chairman. Michael Steele is a conservative that has developed strong positions that will help modernize the Republican party--we classify him as a Republican 2.0.
Steele is the first African-American to become RNC chairman, and I believe he will use his great communication and argumentation skills to enlarge the Republican base. Steele has a background in Law, International Relations, and even a bit of Biology--leads me to think that he is very well educated which is going to be quite useful against the powerful Democrats for the next few years.
The Republican party has been lately lacking in new ideas and public relations especially media relations have not been beneficial to Republican candidates. The Democrats have also been successful in planting seeds of stereotypes of Republicans (rich, xenophobic, religious white guys). The Democrats have positioned themselves as the progressives, and the Republicans as 'people who resist change or progress.'
Michael Steele vowed to stop these stereotypes by saying "a party unconcerned about minorities, a party that’s unconcerned about the lives and dreams of average Americans."
Michael Steele also put forth his concerns about the diminishing Conservative base of the Republican party: "For so long we've allowed the Democrats to define us. We’ve allowed the media to define us, and so it's important for us to be able to establish with clarity what we believe"
Steele who ran in the 2006 US Senate and lost to the Democrat who Obama supported, had a message for Obama:
"I would say to the new president, congratulations. It is going to be an honor to spar with him," Steele said. "And I would follow that up with: How do you like me now?"
The new era of the Republican Party has begun; they need to utilize the internet better than Obama. They need to clarify their positions on immigration and make legal immigration a very important subject. They need to connect with the people of all sorts of beliefs, cultures, and environments. They need to better argue and communicate their principles. They need to become Republican 2.0s in order to win more elections.
I do believe that 2010 and 2012 will create a strong new voter base for the Republicans--even if we lose the 2012 elections, which is very possible, in the end it will only benefit us.

Great article. I think Steele will bring a new meaning to being a Republican and will really start creating a bigger tent for the Republicans.
Congratz to Michael Steele! W00t.
