Obama Takes Train to Washington DC Imitating Lincoln

Obama Train Trip

Interestingly, President-Elect Barack Obama took a 137 mile train ride from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Washington D.C. on Saturday just like his hero Abraham Lincoln did before his inauguration in 1861. Barack Obama apparently wants to show people that he is just like Lincoln; I've always hated this comparison.

Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest presidents in our history. He was the father of the Republican party, he kept the United States together, and he practiced what he preached: freedom.

The thought that newer inexperienced presidents are using his legacy as a stepping stone to highlight their own is absurd.

During the primaries, Obama supporters defended against criticism for Obama's lack of experience: "Abraham Lincoln was inexperienced too." This is a fallacy of exception, how can you possibly argue that experience is irrelevant. This is absurd, when .

What's more absurd is the constant comparisons between Obama and past presidents, this is called propaganda. This boosts Obama without any real evidence or examples.

Obama is indulging his supporter's Abraham Lincoln comparisons trying to associate his reputation with the legends of Lincoln. Why are most of his views contrary to Abraham Lincoln's?

False hopes, incredible promises, and little example or evidence to show for it. This is idolization of a figure and it will be the downfall of Obama when he fails to meet such high expectations.

Let me do Obama a favor by pointing out to his supporters, the fact that he is just a human. He's not special and he may not save us in the end. We should respect him as president, but not idolize any president (that goes for Republicans too).

Abraham Lincoln had good things to say about America. When has Obama said anything good about this country or its citizens?

My gosh..one of the biggest scams perpetrated on the American Public..that this man is ready to be leader of the free world. See what happens when you have the press on your side. If GW had the press on his side..the war would have been over early and all the things Bush tried to do to tell americans about what Democrats were doing to the economy would have been out there. But that's not their agenda. If people knew the truth, there would be riots in the street. But the fact is, people don't want to know..they want to just repeat what's popular. And right now, it's the Dalibama. Libs don't worship God, they worship people. The inevitable fall is going to be very, very hard.

But Lincoln's not *the* best president. James K. Polk comes pretty close. If Obama wants to fix the economy, fix the Iraq issue, and leap over a tall building in a single bound, he should imitate someone like Polk who did some pretty incredible things.

Obama's setting himself up for failure by setting up some crazy goals.

He does set high expectations, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
