President Obama Inaugurated and What to Expect
Congratulations to now President Barack Obama, he took his oath and is now president and currently making his way down the road in the parade. As the 44th president of the United States many wonder what to expect whether to be cautious of his policies or trust his judgment. Is he the pragmatist and moderate that he has been trying to play throughout his campaign or the liberal inexperienced Democrat that many portray him as.
The invitation of Rick Warren became controversial because of his conservative positions; yet activist Joseph Lowery of the United Methodist Church, who delivered the benediction for the inaugural ceremony who said that he waits for when "whites will embrace right", which to me was quite offensive, but that was ignored.
What seems to be extremely disappointing is the obsession of the crowd with Obama. Usually people become fans and obsessed with a leader when they accomplish something great, but these people seem to be fans of Obama for simply becoming president.
I'd cheer along with them if he fixed every problem of the United States after years of political decisions. However, he has not even gotten inside the White house and he is idolized like a religious prophet.
Now, what should we expect from a new Obama administration?
The Obama administration will most likely work on civil and class equality, which could be bad news for the economy.
He will definitely close down Guantanamo Bay, which many fear will allow known terrorists who hate America and even more so for being sent to Guantanamo could get released by US judicial system due to technicalities, lack of evidence, and pleas of insanity. This would allow many militants to be within US borders and able to cause us harm; as well as losing vital intelligence because of intelligence agents not being able to continue questioning the prisoners.
I am confident that Obama will listen to a range of economic advisers and will not listen to Carol Browner's "shrinking economy to stop Global Warming" advise.
Although President Obama behaves like a pragmatist and is acting very moderate in recent months, we really cannot know if he really is a pragmatist. He could have a very stubborn ideology and may be willing to sacrifice in order to achieve the goals of his beliefs.
We cannot know, it's best to not speculate and instead observe his actions.
President Obama and his wife did actually walk down the parade, which I think is praiseworthy.
Although, it's great to hope for an excellent new president, we should remain cautious and especially skeptical.
Just as everyone was skeptical of Bush's policies, we need to be skeptical of Obama's policies in order to make the administration do it's job properly and efficiently.
This is the media's job, and as journalists showed skepticism for Bush, I have no doubt they will show skepticism to Obama to keep their credibility.

Awesome article, I like that you point out the hypocrisy of supporters of Obama and hopefully you're right about the media. But I'm not hopeful.
I wish I had your optimism that the press will do its job. A little late for unbiased reporting. they already skewed the election process.
