(we still do not like Nancy Pelosi though, she is still corrupt; but honestly Newt Gingrich and John Boehner are much worse)
Stimulate Economy with F22 Raptor Jets
Hot Air brought up an interesting point: If the Democrats want a spending bill to stimulate the economy, then why are they trying to reduce/cut funding for the F22 Raptor fighter jet? It employs nearly 95,000 people including thousands of suppliers for parts. Not to mention it is American made.
Some estimate the impact on the economy of the F22 project to be $12 billion.
The F-35 Lightning II and the F-22 Raptor are both fighter jets that bring in billions of dollars of investment by foreigners and our government. The F-35 partners today are the United Kingdom, Italy, Netherlands, Canada, Turkey, Australia, Norway, and Denmark in order of the amount of money spent by these countries. Israel and Singapore may even join the partnership.
I bet, if the Democrats cleaned their bill of pork-barrel projects that barely create jobs and added projects that help people keep jobs and make businesses hire more, such as the F22 and F35 projects--the Democrats may actually have a chance at improving the economy!
Of course, sometimes our expectations are too high for Democrats. As long as they have their seats in office and the donations pile up, they'll vote for just about anything regardless of long-term effects.
If I listed you the amount of bills and pork-barrel projects supported by Democrats you wouldn't believe there are competent people in Congress.

Yeah, I thought the POINT of a Stimulus plan was to SPEND TO CREATE JOBS rather than the conservative TAX CUT TO CREATE JOBS method. What are the Democrats doing?!!!??!

This is a good idea for a stimulus package. Combine it with tax cuts and you might actually pull the US out of recession early! Thoughts?
